    Hello Ross.

Not sure if you remember me. You helped me a few days ago with fixing some code in my functions.php file through email.

Well now, I am finding the site to load slowly. The average load time for a product page is 2.2-2.5 seconds. With S+F Pro enabled it takes 3-4 seconds per page. As soon as I comment out the functions.php code and disable s+f it goes back to normal. I tried switching to the Woocommerce display mode just in case and same thing, so it doesn’t seem to be the code in the functions.php causing a problem, but rather something in V 2.x …

I have cache set to slow, and I have the background tasks for caching disabled in s+f … I did have the caching speed on fast to re-cache the posts after upgrading to 2.x but have now switched it to slow, not sure if that matters.

The staging site is not really a good test for this because WPstagecoach uses a variety of features like hotlinking etc that clearly makes the site run much faster, but if you would like to test on my staging site I can create a new staging site and provide you the login details through email. Any help with this? I really love your plugin and want to continue using it but this slow down is really not good for my site.

Keep in mind I use caching on my live site so you will have to go into a product category then try a few products so you are able to load a non cached page.

    Thanks,
    John

Also, auto count, and load results using ajax are disabled. I don’t have any “features” enabled and I have no changed anything in the plugin other than that cache speed setting a couple days ago and updating to V 2.x.

    Thanks

I may have figured out the issue. I re-read through your notes for upgrading to 2.0 and I am re-building the cache currently, I think something went wrong with it the first time. It is only 2% complete but my product pages seem to be loading normally now. I will update when it is complete.

Darn, I thought that was going to fix it, but pages are still slow compared to what they are when S+F 2.x is disabled, any help/thoughts on this Ross?

It seems like when the caching is running, things are “more” normal. Then when the caching completes it gets even slower …

    Thanks

    Hey John

Sorry for the delays here – I’ll get back to you tomorrow.

    Thanks Ross.

No worries, I know how busy things can get.

It is a bit better now, but definitely not as fast as it used to be, and disabling S+F makes the site roughly .5-.8 seconds faster for every page loaded.

    Thanks

    Hey John

    Thanks for the update.

One thing S&F used to do is lazy load JavaScript, since 2.1 its now an option, try enabling this again in the new “settings” option in the main menu.

    Think that could be it?

How are you measuring the load times?

It would be good to know what hte increased load time is from, more http requests, or specific processes.

    Thanks

    Hey Kamal

Can you open a new ticket, and provide some logins (in a followup, private reply to your own topic) so I can investigate?

    Thanks
