Hi I hope I can explain this properly.
I have 2 S&F Forms on a real estate website – used for searching listings.
One I run on the listings main page and each individual listings pages. So the customer can browse by location/bathrooms/bedrooms price etc.
It only displays results for listings that are “for sale” not sold. Categories that have no property for sale do not display in the drop down. So this works perfectly.
Backend Settings:
Display Results Method: Custom | Template page: /listings | Selected Taxonomy: Hide Empty Terms: all blank
Tags, Categories & Taxonomies:The 2nd S&F is on the home page and this is the one that I am having an issue with. The drop down categories will display even if there is no listing associated with that category. This results in displaying blank pages instead of “Sorry no results match your criteria” or something like that.
Backend Settings:
Display Results Method: Post Type Archive | Selected Taxonomy: Hide Empty Terms
Tags, Categories & Taxonomies: Selection of all terms available. So my question is 2 fold, is it possible to:
1. Not display categories that have no associated listings (preferred)
2. Not display blank pages but rather text that says: “Sorry no listings available for your search criteria”.
Thank you!
