Hi all,
I would like to filter the posts I have in this page
http://moroccoportfolio.com/pt/marrakech/;
but I really need the results to appear on that same page (similar to http://demo.designsandcode.com/sfpro-movie-reviews/).
I already have chosen the container to be #port, as previously set in that page, and I believe that AJAX is correctly “reading” the source of the data since that the categories’ count is correct in the filter.
When I tick the box “+300 EUR” it keeps giving me all the results…
Can you please help me solve this?
I believe it to be a simple question but I’m not being able to solve it only with de documentation..
This website is built with DIVI and the container is a Porfolio module, getting its data from projects. Thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Jose barreirosTrevor(Private) April 3, 2016 at 6:14 pm #41414What Display results method do you use (it should be shortcode) and did you put the results shortcode on the page? It feels like there is no results shortcode at work. There are many posts about divi on this forum, did you search for them for more hints?
Anonymous(Private) April 3, 2016 at 6:51 pm #41416Hello Trevor and thanks for your quick answer.
I put the shortcodes now and I follow the Shortcode setup instructions but stil doesn’t work. For sure I’m doing something wrong…
I’m going to see the divi post on this forum now.
Thanks again for your support Trevor.
Trevor(Private) April 3, 2016 at 7:05 pm #41419The fact is that Divi is very popular and there are many users here who have got it working, but I do not think it is easy. It is a nice looking framework, but it is not so good once you start to look outside the box. There are better frameworks out there; ones that work more in line with WordPress coding standards and ones that are more flexible. Divi just happens to look quite easy to use and, as I said, is very popular.
Anonymous(Private) April 3, 2016 at 11:03 pm #41431Hi again,
After reading the topics on Divi, I believe I cannot use this plugin with Divi the way I would like to.
I would really need to have my portfolio (its the module I use on Divi to show my projects based on its project_categories, with that grid layout, etc.) to be filtered like the movie demo you have..
Is it possible?
By reading the explanation that Ross did on how to setup a page like that, I believe I must use “Display results method”: “As an archive”, am I right?
By doing so, and selecting for ex the project_category “+300EUR”, it doesn’t filter the portfolio of hotels I have in order to present only the ones with that project_category, and shows the porfolio as if it did have any filter on it. It is interesting that if you, after selecting that project_category “+300 EUR” and waiting for the “portfolio” to get color again (it looks like it gets some transparency on it while “thinking”), if you refresh the page, you get right results for that filter… but not the way I wanted it….In the end, the question I really would like you to help me with is: Will I be able to use this plugin with the portfolio module on my website?
Thanks in advance!
Trevor(Private) April 4, 2016 at 7:55 am #41450Hi Jose
I have not spent a great deal of time looking at Divi, but I do know that using the shortcode method, which is what you WILL need to use to get the results to appear on the same page as the originating search (if that search is on a normal page), may need for the core files of Divi to be altered in some way. Ross and I have discussed this more than once in the last few days (with regard to Divi) and I think we have agreed that, as soon as Ross as finished his current priority project (a day or so), he will make this one of his priorities.
In the interim, I think that Ross did work out a manual way of doing this, but I do not know how he did it. I will ask him when he is free.
We had a similar issue with another popular theme framework (Ultimatum) and Ross and the devs from Ultimatum worked together to get both working together in shortcode mode. Of course, this meant that the author of that framework needed to co-operate and bring their coding into line with WordPress standards (which it was not at the time), but in that case they were happy to co-operate and help the joint users of S&F Pro and their framework.
I will flag this thread for him to comment on if he has time.
Trevor(Private) April 4, 2016 at 8:18 am #41453Hi
Ross took a quick look 🙂
Are you trying to hook S&F Pro into a Visual Composer element or widget? Because I think that VC is breaking things. Ross tells me that Divi and S&F shortcode method DO work fine in normal circumstances. So, we need to work together to resolve this. I am going to send you my Skype details so we can meet up there.
