Hi!
Have a problem with my Search & Filter form.
The search field works fine, but the dropdown menu doesn´t, and it’s what I was looking for.
I need to add the dropdown menu of categories in my portfolio page.
My theme calls the portfolio->”Featured Items” maybe it’s that. If so.. what can I do to fix that?
Some code to change or something like that?
The dropdown menu does not show any category.I can see them and choose to be ‘Include’ into the Tags, Categories & Taxonomies tag. But then doesn’t appear.

It looks like you are not using categories – is this correct?
Can you send me screenshots of the settings box – the “posts” tab, and the “tags, categories and taxonomies” tab? and then also the category field itself (in S&F admin), with “advanced” expanded?
Thanks

Your “Featured Items” is just a custom post type… And you would like similar functionality to the way Categories work with Posts?
I think what you are looking to do is create a “custom taxonomy”. Custom taxonomies work just the same as categories and tags, but you can name them whatever you like..
So you need to add a taxonomy to a custom post type (Featured Posts), there are some ways to do this with code, but there are plenty of plugins out there – this one has been recommended by a couple of users:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-post-type-ui/
Once you have created your custom taxonomy, then you may add a “taxonomy” field to your search form (in Search & filter edit screen).
Hope that helps!
Thanks
