Post meta only showing value numbers, not the content

I have a post type ‘Kenmerken’ (aspects in Dutch). You pick the aspects by checking boxes.
A post meta search field only returns numbers, meta values it seems. Is this because it uses checkboxes and not plain text? That would be a petty.

It is in fact a taxonomy, made as a post type since it holds information itself.
It’s doubled as a taxonomy for search purposes.
I was hoping to search on the post type and avoid the double entry.

I’m using Pods, so it’s all custom post types or custom taxonomies.
Checking the ATC box does not make any difference.
The result seems right looking at the count, just that’s the list is numbers instead of labels.

Ok, so we have discovered that the problem is that you are using the PODS plugin and the fields are relationship fields, which we do not support in that plugin. We do support such fields in Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
