Hi,
We are looking to use the option to search filter based on the Post Meta value.
However we would like to be able to say that the field should contain the search criteria, instead of an exact match to the value.To illustrate this with an example;
Country filter list
Options:
United States
Canada
MexicoPost Meta value examples:
United States
United States, Canada, Mexico
CanadaCurrently the 2nd option wont display if we look for United States.
I understand we could structure the data differently using custom fields/field groups/Taxonomy but the data in this field is coming in through an integration and we bound by the way the data is delivered. We could change the delimiter but that is about it.
Is this something we can update by making a slight code change?
This change would be used for all our Post Meta options.
Anonymous(Private) July 27, 2016 at 2:45 pm #52312We are pushing the data directly into the database from our CRM system using our integration platform. The challenge was that if we want to push it into the database as Taxonomy items we have to update a lot of different fields in a lot of tables, besides that it caused some other challenges which simply did not make the it worth the effort.
We are able to push into the Post Meta very easy, however as mentioned this causes some limitations on the search functionality.
