Populate a select drop down with Advanced Custom Fields Meta

Hello,

I have a website which lists cars. and wish to search and filter by the manufacturer and model etc etc.

in the search and filter i have selected Post Meta and then selected the Post_Meta field that it will filter.

But rather than use the options provided in the search and filter plugin to define the list of options i can select from, i want to populate this select field with a list that is created in an advanced custom fields meta field on an options page that i have made..

Is this possible?

Hey Richard

No, not yet – for you now all you can do is use the “auto suggest” feature – which will search through existing posts and find possible values.

I’m looking at providing better integration with ACF further down the line.

Ahh ok.

am i able to hook into the select drop down thats populated by S&FP?

as the select i need is pretty important to the project i am working on.

person selects Manufacturer.

Then the next select box is filtered by the Manufacturer to produce a list of Models for that Manufacturer.

I have it setup like so:

ACF Repeater with Manufacturer and another repeater inside to produce the Models all on an options page.

If you can imagine its pretty important to be able to do this when searching through cars as they are the main defined filter options that a user would require.
