    Hi there

    I’m not sure hte issue exactly, but it sounds like you have some custom code interferring with the Search Query.

    Something like pre_get_posts which is being applied to queries it shouldn’t.

    To demonstrate this, I created a search form using a different display method (one which is not usually affected by pre_get_posts) – http://www.techwebies.com/2015/12/sftest.html/

    Try recreating the form just in case.

    If not, remove any custom code in functions.php and try again.

    Then try to disable your plugins, it could be from one of these and then lastly try with a different theme.

    In addition to the above, I also found under the “advanced” tab, that you had ticked “Use Relevanssi” – however, you do not have this plugin installed – I disabled this option.
