Are you using the additional Divi extension plugin from us – the link (a blue button) to download it is at the top of this guide (which you also need to read and carefully follow):

Yes, I do have that plugin. But I am not using a blog, portfolio, or shop Divi module. It is just a widget in my sidebar.

But the posts on the page are using the Divi Post module?

Okay, yes, the pasts are using the “Blog Feed Masonry” module. I didn’t realize that was what I needed to change. However, following the instructions on that Divi extension plugin that you linked, step 2 says “In content -> Scroll down underneath the options, and choose Yes for Link with a Search & Filter Form.” In the content tab on my site, I’m not seeing “Link with a Search & Filter Form.” Any idea how to get that to show? The Search & Filter Pro Divi Extension plugin is installed and activated.

If you do not see that option in the posts module you are using, as you sure you are using the posts module we describe in our guide, instead of maybe a module form a third party plugin for Divi?

I’m using the Extra theme from Elegant Themes, which uses Divi. No third party plugins for the modules. Any chance I could give you a login to take a look?

Can you give me a sequences of a search to make so that I can see what you describe?

One thing I note is that you appear to be searching the following Post Types:

    Posts
    Pages
    Recipes

But you have ‘Category’ and ‘Tag’ in the form, which generally relate to Posts (using these on other Post Types is not recommended and can cause no results to be found). Do you need to be searching Posts and Pages, and, if not, I am unsure how your recipe plugin handles term data (it would be usual for the recipes to have their own custom taxonomies and/or custom fields).

I had forgotten that recipes was checked. Everything that needs to be searched is in posts, so I removed pages and recipes and only posts is checked.

So I changed everything back to how it was when I first started this thread. If I select an Author, like “Charity” in the dropdown, all of Charity’s posts show and the numbers in parentheses in the Categories dropdown below that are updated to show only Charity’s posts, as expected. But then if I make a selection in the categories dropdown, like “Cookies,” I would expect it to only show one recipe, a cookie recipe by Charity. But nothing happens. I have to reload the page to do another filter.

In the search form, if I change “Display results method” from “As an Archive” to “Divi Blog / Portfolio Module” as stated in the instructions to the Divi Extension plugin, it just says “Sorry, No Posts Found” for any filter I perform. The same thing happens if I also put the URL https://eyrerecipes.com in the “Results URL” field.

I couldn’t follow steps 2 and 3 at https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/3rd-party/divi/ because “Link with a Search & Filter Form” doesn’t seem to exist in my Divi posts module. Could that be because I’m using the Extra theme from Elegant Themes instead of their Divi theme? By the way, none of the posts are using any Divi modules. Only the main page.

Thank you so much for your help.
