Not working, even with Shortcode method

I’m developing a site on a local environment (using Local by Flywheel). I’m not sure if this is the problem, but when I try to use Search and Filter Pro using the simplest Shortcode method, it’s not working at all. Doesn’t work with or without ajax. I’m just trying to use a very simple search box only, no other filtering.

If I try to search from any page of the site it is not redirecting to the search results page, with no ajax, or with ajax and “Only use Ajax on the results page?” selected. It just reloads the same page, appending the URL with a query string like ?_sf_search%5B0%5D=, but not showing any results.

If I go directly to the /search-results/ page I created with the shortcode, and have added as the results URL, then it shows all results regardless of the search term. No additional search queries change this. Something is preventing the search form talking to the results container, or preventing the search form from really having any effect at all, including redirecting to the results page, as described above.

Let me know if a live link would be helpful. It’s a virtual machine and once I turn my computer off it will not be available, but if the timing is right, you should be able to view it and see what is happening. I’m at UTC+12, Auckland, New Zealand time.

Ideally I’d get shortcode working, then possibly change to an archive or custom setup for a bit more control over the output, but if shortcode won’t even work, then anything more advanced feels pretty hopeless right now.
