    I’ve tried everything and chatted with Divi support with no luck…. other than to think that the filter is what is causing the excerpt not to show.

    It looks like a Divi thing. Try this Custom CSS:

    .divi-100-article-card .et_pb_blog_grid .article-card__excerpt {
  display: block !important;
}

    It appears to be loading a different template for the ‘cards’, I am not sure why.
