My results won’t show

On my search page, it shows all of the current posts and the search field on the side.
My different taxonomies in the search field show an accurate count for the posts related to each. But whenever I select any of the taxonomies/categories and search, it states there are “0 search results found.”
Also, if I click on the posts’ categories, it says there are zero posts in the category.
Under “Display Results”, I am using a shortcode – per the FAQ page.
