Hello,
I have a Woocommerce website with a Multisite.
I cloned the EN website to create a NL website.
I translated all the categories and taxonomies and I linked it to the other languages (IT EN DE FR).
In front office, when I do a search, by selecting a taxonomy or category, I have as a result a 404 error:
https://www.agricamper-italia.com/nl/zoeken-op-meerdere-criteria/
Could you please help me?
Thank you very muchTrevor(Private) March 9, 2020 at 12:40 pm #235898They are different ‘sites’ in the multisite?
This means that, whilst one site is a copy of the other, but translated, they would, after the cloning, not be in sync with each other?
So, when you click the language change links, the sites actually change?
The forms, therefore, cannot be linked, and must be designed, built (and cache built), individually for each language site.
The chances are that if the forms remain what was cloned, there is a good chance that they will be broken and require rebuilding, and not connected.
I assume that you are not using a translation plugin, like WPML, as this would not be needed, I think?
BTW. This would also mean that you need one licence per site.
Anonymous(Private) March 12, 2020 at 10:28 pm #236549Hello,
Finally I gotted it worked with the plugin NS Cloner. But I had to delete this website as I didn’t had all the categories, taxonomies, posts and pages linked automatically with the other IT EN DE FR sites.
I used MultiLingual Press to create the new NL website (https://multilingualpress.org/docs/getting-started-with-multilingualpress-3/#Create-a-new-website-within-the-multisite-and-set-the-language-for-the-site).
The model website is https://www.agricamper-italia.com/en/
The new website I’m working on is https://www.agricamper-italia.com/nlnew/
I created again a new Search Form, I created a new Post Grid but it doesn’t work. The categories and taxonomies doesn’t show up in the form. I checked the posts and there are the categories and taxonomies.
Yes, all the IT EN DE FR and NL websites are sync with each other. It’s the same website translated with subdomains (/en /de /fr /nl).
For the licence, I remember it was OK like I was doing, but maybe I’m wrong, please tell me if a need to purchase a Developer license.
Thanks for your helpAnonymous(Private) March 13, 2020 at 9:08 am #236604Hello, the issue is not resolved.
I tried this morning to create a post and we see it in the search page: https://www.agricamper-italia.com/nlnew/multi-criteria-search/ (model https://www.agricamper-italia.com/en/multi-criteria-search/)
So the problem is when I duplicate the website. Is there maybe a parametrer that I did wrong when I create the new website? ThanksTrevor(Private) March 13, 2020 at 4:46 pm #236660After you cloned the website, did you rebuild the the form cache?
The usual causes of post duplication are:
1. sticky posts
2. random search order (causes some posts to be repeated on different pages, but never on the same page)
3. plugins or custom code that use the WordPresspre_get_posts()
function (sometimes found in the functions.php file)Anonymous(Private) March 13, 2020 at 5:05 pm #236664The problem is not posts to be repeated on different pages, the problem is that the posts that have been created with the new website doesn’t appears in the search page https://www.agricamper-italia.com/nlnew/multi-criteria-search/.
Or maybe I didn’t understood your feedback?
Thanks -
