    Hello,

I’m now using the version 2.0.1

I have a custom key “Processor” named “Intel Celeron N3050 up to 2.16GHz Dual-core CPU”.

I added Post Meta “Processor”, Checkbox, Value “Intel Celeron” Label “Intel Celeron”.

In “Post Meta” tab, i added Processor, char, LIKE, Intel Celeron.

But when i check Intel Celeron box on the site it gives me 0 results.

    Hi Adrien

If you want the user to have the option Intel Celeron in the search form, then you do not need to add anything to the post meta tab.

Try clearing out the post meta tab and seeing if it works?

    Thanks

It doesn’t work. Ok let me reexplain.

Let’s say i Have two posts with the custom key “Processor”.
Post 1 has custom value: “Intel Celeron X965”
Post 2 has custom value: “Intel Celeron X322”

I want that if a visitor check “Intel Celeron” checkbox in Search And Filter menu, it gives Post 1 and 2 as result.

I don’t want to have “Intel Celeron X965” and “Intel Celeron X322” checkboxes in Search and Filter menu.

    Thank you.

Hi Adrien this is not possible.

The Post Meta tab is only used for setting defaults – so you could for example add a rule –

instock = 1 – which would only display results that are in stock, combined with the users filters – the post meta tab does not affect anything to do with the fields in your form.

To solve your issue, I would probably create a taxonomy, some like “Processor Family” which you can then assign to your posts/products.

    Thanks

The problem is i add like 10 posts per day with a different custom value most of the time. So i have like 50 different “Intel Celeron …” for the custom key “Processor”. Same problem with the other custom keys.

Would you do some custom coding So i could add in Search and Filter a Post Meta where i could also enter “Value” “like” instead of “=”. Ie I would put for example “Intel Celeron” and it would list me post with custom key “Processor” value “Intel Celeron X965″ for example.

    Thank you.

To be honest thats not something I see as a common requirement (its the first time anyone has asked for that) so it will be far down on the to do list.

My suggestion above about using a custom taxonomy seems like a fairly straight forward workaround for now:

Is the single licence open source? Or do i have to buy the developper licence?

    Thank you.

S&F is licensed under GPL 🙂

As should anything released on WordPress – but I guess that’s a controversial topic 😉

    Thanks
