Tagged: author
Hello,
I am finding that when I use the keyword search and enter a post author’s name in the search field the results do not bring up posts written by the author. I know the plugin has the author drop down option and that works but our client also wants to be able to search by the author name. Is this possible? How would we do this?
Thanks
The author’s name is not actually stored in the posts associated with that author, and so that data is not available. In the Author field in our form, we can fetch the User ID of the author, and from that look up the associated name. However, text box searches are not performed by our plugin, but instead by WordPress.
We do support the Relevanssi plugin (which replaces the WordPress text search), so you may be able to install that plugin, enable support in our form advanced settings, and then set Relevanssi up to do that type of search for, but it is not something I have tried. The documentation for this is here:
https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/3rd-party/relevanssi/
Remember to build the Relevanssi index after setting it up.
