    Ah. Not a good idea. any update would wipe that. There is better guidance here:

    Do that and then I can see what you have edited it to from WP Admin.

    I have the unedited results template. I will put that back and test. Should that solve the problem?

    I do not know, but it is a starting point for testing. If you then get no results, it means either a plugin or the theme is interfering somehow.

    I have made the changes and moved the files around according to the instructions but I am still not getting the results.

    Try installing Relevanssi and enabling the Advanced support for that.

    It has worked in other instances of wp of course.
