    I have the unedited results template. I will put that back and test. Should that solve the problem?

    I do not know, but it is a starting point for testing. If you then get no results, it means either a plugin or the theme is interfering somehow.

    I have made the changes and moved the files around according to the instructions but I am still not getting the results.

    Try installing Relevanssi and enabling the Advanced support for that.

    don’t want to spend more money. What about reinstallation? Can you not figure out the cause?

    Mmm. Are you able to test it with a standard WP theme like twentyfourteen?

    So, it seems that this may be a theme related issue. Given that you are using our Shortcode method, that means your theme is causing the problem at the wp_query.

    This may be complex to resolve, and I will need our developer, Ross, to take a look. Are you able to make a staging site/development copy that he can work with?
