I had the search and filter plugin working perfectly on my Divi themed website. But i decided to shift over to Extra theme (for various reasons). I transferred the results.php (infinite scroll version) page over (keeping it exactly the same), and maintained all S&F settings the same (and also ensured short codes are the same, etc.). Now, when I get to the bottom of the first page of results, the “infinite scroll” is not triggered and no new results are loading. Any idea what happened??

    Here is the page: https://cncl.info/resource-library-all/

…same problem on the other pages that used to have infinite scroll working (essentially copies of the original results page, but with different categories):
    https://cncl.info/resource-library-personal/
    https://cncl.info/resource-library-humans/
    https://cncl.info/resource-library-earthlings/
    https://cncl.info/resource-library-earth/

(and I know the css needs some work, I just haven’t gotten around to that yet…)

    Thanks,
    Paris

Did you migrate the site or change server?

I just simply changed the theme on the wordpress dashboard (and then manually copied key files over–namely the “search-filter” folder containing the results.php (infinity scrolling version) and some other unrelated files), no formal migration and no change of host server.

In the form I see that Ajax is enabled, but when a search is done, Ajax does not fire and instead the page is reloaded.

There are no JavaScript errors showing in the console for the page and our JavaScript file is being loaded OK.

The Results URL looks OK, so something is preventing our Ajax from firing. This can be:

    #1 The theme
    #2 Custom Javascript
    #3 A third party Plugin

If you have not changed/added either #2 or #3, then this points to the theme. Whilst it might not look good, try testing with a standard WP theme, like TwentySixteen. I did look at the few plugins you have activated, and none suggest that they might be the issue.

Similarly, I have seen this theme from Elegant Themes before, and not encountered an issue like this. It would be useful for you to create a new development/testing install of this theme from scratch, add just our plugin and a few test posts, use the shortcode method and see if Ajax works?

    Hi Trevor,

Thanks again for your extremely quick responses–much appreciated!

After much hand wringing, I finally surrendered to not being able to have the infinity scroll; then as soon as I went to edit the page and moved the “search and filter” module from where it was located to the different sidebar location on this new theme, the infinity scroll started working again–go figure!

    Best regards,
    Paris
