I’m new to this plug-in and have the same question as the “How to Start Styling” post, but the responses to that post were marked private. The idea is simple and I’m surprised it isn’t documented. How do I specify which fields I want to show up in the search results? My page is here:

I want the results to show the image, title and excerpt. I want each post to take up minimal room, so several items will be visible at the same time.

    How do I do this?

I’m commenting on my own post. I found this..

but I don’t know the context of these commands. Do I need to write code to use this plug-in?

You appear to be using Divi, if so … please see this thread/post:

    Trevor,

I’m using this in the sidebar to filter the results (your 3a):
    [searchandfilter id=”599″]

I’m using this short code in my Search/Search Results page and it filters correctly (similar to your 3b):
    [searchandfilter id=”599″ show=”results”]

Where do I put the Code Block (your 3c)?

Where do I find the Blog Block (your 4)? I have the Search and Filter form that has tabs for Display Results and Posts. I don’t see options on either tab for Auto Count, Display Results or Ajax Results Container. I put

3d. The Blog block, for now set to grid mode.
    4. The form has to be setup correctly, in Display Results and Posts pages:
4a. Set Auto Count (both settings) to ON
4b. The Display Results Mode set to Custom
4c. The Ajax Results container is set to .et_pb_salvattore_content

I’m unclear how any of this solves the original issue. I’m getting the right search results now, the filter is working. I want to specify which fields of the post show up in the search results. I imaged this would be simple checkboxes of some kind. How do I specify that I want the image, title and excerpt to be the fields and the only fields that display for each post that is included in the search results?

    Thanks for your help!

    Carol
