I am currently using WooCommerce to create a website that displays my product range. I segmented my product range into different product categories, each with their own sub-categories. One individual product can have multiple product categories.

Using S&F Pro I implemented a sidebar widget which can search according to multiple product categories using checkboxes. The filter function itself works great. But when no category is selected (i.e. check a box then uncheck), it refreshes and shows my parent product categories as the first 3 results followed by the rest of my product range. Is there a way I can hide my parent product categories from the results so when no box is checked, it only shows my products?

Website (to the pages that have the filter): http://cassel-metalldetektor.de/product-category/purpose

I have tried using the “Tags, Categories & Taxonomies” function and excluded the parent product categories, but it shows no results when I filter, and only shows the parent product categories when I have no box checked.

Before we go too far on this, can I send you the dev version of the plugin?

Can you send your email address by private reply and I will send it to you?

Thank you for the swift reply. I’ve decided to keep it as it is because I see the benefit of redirecting them to one of my parent categories. No further support is needed, please mark this as resolved.
