So, just to clarify what was said above (correct me if I’m wrong, Trevor!)
This seems to work fine on the default “posts” post type. Authors listed here are displayed properly for both “Show all” and “Hide Empty”.
Authors also display properly for the “work” custom post type as long as “Hide Empty” isn’t ticked.
But when “Hide Empty” is ticked for the “work” custom post type, authors with “work” posts return as “empty” and get hidden UNLESS they’re listed as an author (either primary or contributing) of an “opinion” (the default “post” post type).
I could be wrong, but from the tests we’ve done above that appears to be what’s happening. The number of posts/count seems to be right for both, but when “Hide Empty” is checked for the “work” post type it hides any author who doesn’t have an opinion post.
Trevor(Private) June 20, 2016 at 7:48 pm #48959So, I was reading this post:
https://support.searchandfilter.com/forums/topic/use-meta-field-for-taxonomy-value-display/
Where Ross said this:
I suspect this is the same issue. I can see that you have posted in that thread also. Am I right?
Anonymous(Private) June 20, 2016 at 8:43 pm #48968It’s possible. It could be to do with the way CAP stores data, and yet Search and Filter is able to retrieve the count accurately before “Hide Empty” is applied.
That thread was more to do with changing the labels of the returned options, rather than actually filtering the results.
