I need to set up a complex search with the following parameters — is this possible with Search & Filter Pro?
I have 26 Schools. (Each School has a profile to be displayed.)
There are 9 Subjects. Each School has programs available in any (or all) of the 9 Subjects.
Each Subject at a School can be offered at up to 5 Levels.
Each School has different details about Location and Format for the each combination of Subject and Level offered at that particular School.
So for example:
School 1
– Subject 1 + Level 1 (Locations 1, 2, 3 and Format 1)
– Subject 1 + Level 2 (Locations 2, 3, 4 and Formats 1, 2)
– Subject 2 + Level 1 (Locations 2, 3 and Format 2)
– Subject 3 + Level 3 (Location 1 and Format 1)The details for the other Schools would be unique combinations in a similar fashion.
The results of the search should be links taking you to the profiles for the matching Schools. (“Matching” means ALL selections made apply for that particular School.)
The results of the search should only have each matching School listed one time.
Is something like this possible? I’ve tried setting it up with other solutions but I keep hitting roadblocks regarding how to set it up to get the search to properly implement. (For example, is School one CPT, Subject a second CPT, and Level, Location, Format taxonomies associated with Subject?)
Thank you for your reply and guidance.
Ross Moderator(Private) May 2, 2015 at 12:11 am #16449I would be tempted to set each one as a Custom Taxonomy.
Then you can create a search form with many taxonomy fields.
If you want each dropdown (or field) to “filter” as you make selections revealing the available options only, then this is not currently available but I’m working on this for release end of this month.
Thanks
