Hi
I’ve created a search form on this page http://tsep.sj-creative.co.uk/test and the results should show on this page http://tsep.sj-creative.co.uk/search
However when I type a search term into the search box no results display even though those words are included in my post titles, categories and tags.
Please can you help?
Trevor(Private) March 17, 2017 at 12:25 pm #97489What version of the plugin are you using, and what display method is being used?
Trevor(Private) March 17, 2017 at 12:30 pm #97496Can you upgrade to v2.3.3, just in case it is a bug we have since fixed? If you need to do i manually … to do the update (after downloading the latest version from your account area):
1) Deactivate S&F Pro in WP Admin Plugins page (do NOT delete the plugin from within WP Admin Plugins page; otherwise you will lose your search form)
2) Via FTP (or cpanel file manager if you have it), delete search-filter-pro folder from the wp-content\plugins folder on your server. If you wish to keep the folder, just in case, do NOT rename it, instead move it UP a folder into the wp-content folder.
3) Unzip the file that you have downloaded (if you are using cPanel File manager, you can upload the zip file and then extract it in the plugins folder).
4) Upload the search-filter-pro folder to the wp-content\plugins folder on your server.
5) Activate Search & Filter Pro in WP Admin Plugins page.Trevor(Private) March 17, 2017 at 2:23 pm #97516All you need do is add a form to the page. If you want just the search text box on the first page, but a more detailed form and results on the results page, make a form to do that, and make sure it has the search text box still on it. Then, on the results page, make sure the shortcode is for this new form (it will also work receiving the initial search from the other form).
Anonymous(Private) March 17, 2017 at 2:32 pm #97518Thank you, I now need to style the search box with css to look like the seach box that is on the home page http://tsep.sj-creative.co.uk/
Are you able to help with that?
Trevor(Private) March 17, 2017 at 3:06 pm #97528OK. To help me get started with that, can you add a Search button to the test form, and make sure that the
Submit labelon it saysSearch(by default it saysSubmit)? Our search box has theSearch ...placeholder text message in it, so if you need to, remove that, and also find the Auto Submit option and switch that off.Let me know when you are done?
