Hi, is there a good example for filtering video, images, and file type content – content that you don’t click to go to a post, but you click to watch, view, or download?
Also, I’m fine with creating Custom Post Type manually but curious if there’s a Custom Post Type plugin you recommend.
Our site uses Toolset Types/Views and I’m SO looking forward to getting this implemented to get rid of the complexity and bloat!
Thank you!
I can’t think of an example. The results listing method would, because of the need to offer download/view inline, need to be quite complex. It isn’t something that I would want to have to code by hand. What would happen is that the HTML for the listings would be created, and, when the document is ready, javascript then runs to attach to and modify that HTML to provide the functionality required. The problem comes if you want to be able to update these results using Ajax, because most coders don’t even consider that when they write the code, making it very hard to reload the results AND still have that added functionality.
Can it be done? I have (without being able to recall them) seen sites where users have got downloads and media playing working great, and got it working with our plugin. So, it IS possible.
My preference is to use the free version of Custom Post Type UI.
