bad day,
first I got
Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on null in /var/www/vhosts/xxxxxxxxxx.de/httpdocs/xxxx/wp-includes/query.php on line 28
when I tried to activate the plugin.
after work around now I getting these issues:
Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /……./wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/frontend/class-frontend.php on line 267
very frustrating this plugin and I wonder why this plugin have a 5 star rating, seems very buggy and not well tested.
PAID 20USD FOR NOTHING TODAY
Cannot use it and will remove this againRoss Moderator(Private) March 25, 2016 at 3:42 pm #40554Hi Michael
Sorry to hear you are having troubles, that is exactly why we have dedicated support.
There are thousands and thousands of themes available for WordPress – considering this, there will always be scenarios with any plugin where something doesn’t work out right away.
Of course, issues getting setup can be frustrating and annoying – all we can do (when developing S&F) is to follow WordPress best practices and guidelines.
As you are the only user to have reported this specific issue, it is safe to assume that there is some conflict / compatibility issue with your theme or another plugin in your setup.
I see from your other ticket you had the initial error, however, you found a workaround yourself to get up and running.
I guess what this workaround did was not solve the issue at all, merely get you past the activation step – my assumption is the same issue is now showing itself in another area of your site.
Therefor I suggest we take a further look to see if we can find the conflict.
The best way of proceeding is as follows:
1) I think the issue is with your theme, so you can send us a copy of your original theme and I can test here and try to find any potential issues.
2) Provide temporary login details for the admin area of your site – although I think the issue is with the theme, so testing here on my test server would be the best first option.
Thanks
Ross Moderator(Private) March 28, 2016 at 2:01 pm #40667Hi Michael
I tested with your theme – colormag – http://themegrill.com/themes/colormag/ – absolutely no issues.
I also see from you error message above, that an error was being generated from “wordpress SEO” – aka YOAST – I also tested this with the latest version of S&F.
No issues at all.
There must be something else wrong in your setup.
Ensure the following:
WordPress is upto date
All plugins are upto date
Try the dev version of S&F (I’ve just emailed you a copy – as this is what I was testing with)If you still have issue, then I believe the problems will come from your customisation of your theme.
If this is the case, Trevor will be able to assist in troubleshooting what the issue might be, but I would start by removing all custom code and adding it back one part at a time, to isolate the issue.
Thanks
