Can you please give a tutorial on how to set the result.php to 2 or more columns-layout? I looked in the support forum already but I can’t seem to figure this out with the already provided information.
I do not want to use the archive way for this, because AJAX does not work like I want to.
Please help.

Hi Rutger

Customising your template is really upto you.

If you can build a layout in WordPress, you can build a layout in S&F – its exactly the same – I think it would be a good idea to get more familiar with WordPress and templates in general if you want to build the layout yourself.

So first you would want to follow the instructions here:

And ensure to follow the step about customising results and copying the template file in to your theme folder.

Now you know which file to edit and should apply regular WordPress template logic.

Hey Ross,

do you have a result.php example for the Avada Theme? I want to show the search result in colums?
I try the car example from another post, but that doesent work. I am not a coder 🙂

Hey Oliver

You can use avada’s search template to show results, which I think by default shows results in a grid / columns…

However, avada adds a check on the template, to show a “no results found” message if there isn’t a search term so you will need to:

1) In S&F set the display mode to Archive
2) Set the custom template filename to search.php
3) Then Modify the Avada search template: http://www.designsandcode.com/wordpress-plugins/search-filter-pro/faqs/#quick-note-avada
