I have done my best to get Search & Filters plugin to work with my Marketify Theme, but it doesn’t seem to work. I can get the download categories & tags to display in the widget, but when I select a category that is applied to a particular download, it says there are no results (even though the count shows there to be 2 posts that apply).

I read the previous thread titled, “Results of Search & Filter Pro in Marketify“, and did my best to follow it, but ultimately, the thread never did indicate there was a success, and if there were one, it didn’t explain what the solution was.

Widget Configuration: I have the following settings:

    • Display Results using shortcode
    • Results URL goes to a page titled “search-results”
    • That search results page uses a template with a standard WordPress Loop and an echo do_shortcode(); PHP instruction
    • I tried it with Ajax turned on and off

    Site Configuration:
The site is configured to work with Easy Digital Downloads and Front End Submissions. These are non-negotiable since the primary functionality is to set up store fronts for vendors.

I think that the permalinks set up might be interfering with the implementation (I have it set up for Post name /%postname%/

    Hi there

Ok so I may have an idea about the problem.

So first off, the count that you see is just what you see in the backend of WordPress when you say navigate to a category page for example under a post type. This is not dynamic so won’t reflect the options you set in the settings panel (ie, under the “tags, categories and taxonomies”, and “post meta” tabs.

So what I think may be happening is that there are some conflicting settings.

What I would do is ensure under the general tab you have selected the correct post type for your products.

Then, clear out any settings in the two tabs: “tags, categories and taxonomies” and “post meta”.

Also under the “posts” tab, clear out any sorting you may have there – if you sort by a meta key that does not exist or has problems you will get no results.

Let me know how that goes?

    Thanks

Just to let you know the next version of S&F has dynamic (always accurate) counts.

    Thanks
