Does the plugin remove the option for Post Count in the Divi module? (For example, I’d like to preview only 3 posts on the homepage, but it seems as though the option in the module to select the number to show has disappeared)

In our form settings you would have to set the form to display 3 posts per page, and then use custom CSS to hide the pagination.

Thank you – is it possible to show 3 on one page but more on another?

I am sorry, but that is not possible, no.

So to confirm – while using this plugin, there would be no solution for showing a few blog posts on one page but showing 10+ resources on another?

Not that I am aware of. This would be quite hard to code in any scenario, with or without our plugin. I can make it a feature request for you, if you wish?

    Hi Molly

Just to clarify on this – S&F does take over the post count and uses its own settings.

Are you trying to link 1 search form with multiple different pages of results?

Or are you saying, that S&F is interferring with all blog modules (even when you don’t want S&F)?

This potentially sounds like a bug but I don’t think I fully understand your use case.

    Thanks

Hi there! Thanks for reaching out to clarify. It could be that I’m doing something wrong! I’ll explain:

I have a number of different types of content that I’m developing using Posts. Generally these fall into:

    – Blog posts/stories

    – Resources/articles

    ____

The former, I’d like to just operate normally with Divi in the sense that I can use the blog post module and specify that I’d like to show the newest 3 blogs on the homepage, for example, and then they can click to view or navigate to view the full blog post archives on another page, and on that page I can use the blog post module again but specify, say, to show 12 posts with pagination.

When I use the blog module it typically shows me an option to enter a number under Post count. When I have S&F active on the site, this option disappears from the blog module and seems to be overrided by S&F – which makes sense when I want to use S&F, but is less ideal when I’m wanting to post other types of content.
    ______

The latter (Resources & Articles) is what I’ve purchased S&F for, which is to develop a resource library that is searchable and filterable with categories and tags. I have this set up on a page and have it set in the S&F backend to show 10 results per page.

    ____

So to summarize, I’d like to be able to do both – posting as a regular blog that isn’t affected by S&F, as well as posting as a resource library using S&F.

I suppose ideally S&F wouldn’t override the settings, and I’d be able to select post number in the blog module regardless of what content I’m posting – whether that be resources or “blogs”.

    Does this explanation make sense?

    Thanks again,

    Molly

Ahhh figured it out! It was a bug, tracked it down and I’ve just released an update for the Divi Extension plugin – you should see 1.0.2 shortly in your dahsboard or you can download it manually from the extension page.

Now the post count field will always show, but when used with S&F, it will be ignored.

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks
