Tagged: ajax, display search terms
First of all, thanks for the great plugin! It’s going to be my new silver bullet for bigger Websites!
I bought the pro version and use a combination of search field and filters (categories and taxonomies) in my index, archive and search.php.
1.) Is it possible to fire a search (ie. getting from index.php to search.php) just by setting a filter but without entering a search term? Hitting the search button doesn’t do anything if there’s just a filter set.
2.) When using AJAX, is it possible to display and update(!) current search terms and/or filters?
get_search_query() only works after a page reload of the search results.
Thanks in advance!
Cheers
Georg
Just a quick update:
1. question has been solved – I didn’t have a loop on the page so after firing the filter the posts had no where to go. Ooops, my bad. Having include a loop, the filters work without typing a search term, at least when using AJAX.
2. still is unresolved. Maybe the AJAX update can fix this (thumbs pressed ;-)).
Cheers Georg
Hey Georg
Hope the new update is working out ok for your, unfortunately (2) is still not possible.. There is a beta feature in the setting panel which should do this, but to be honest it is mostly far to buggy to use 🙁
Hope you are enjoying, and I will look to add this soon!
Thanks
