Is it possible to have different operators in the same search form, seperated by the product category?
    http://cassel-metalldetektor.de/product-category/products/

For example, for “Feed Mechanism”, our products only have one feed mechanism each. Therefore, it makes sense to have the OR operator if a user checks both “Conveyor Feed” and “Gravity Feed”. However, I want to maintain the AND operative if the user selects “Metal Detectors” and “Food” because we have metal detectors specifically for food products.

Essentially, is there a way to maintain the AND operative across parent product categories (taxonomy) but use the OR operative within the parent product category.

All the terms you mention are in the same taxonomy? Then no. Have you considered having more than one taxonomy instead?

Thank you for the reply Trevor. I hadn’t thought of that.
I think it might be too much effort for a small function so I’ll leave it as it is. Thanks for your assistance, please mark this topic as resolved.
