    Hello,

    Please see page https://jayhalford.com/blog/recipes/

I was hoping that by installing this plugin the blog posts already displayed on the page could be filtered (see masonry blog post grid under search results). Currently the Search and Filter plugin is displaying it’s own list of blog posts on top of the original post display.

Is it possible for the search and filter plugin to organise and filter posts already displayed on the page, following the theme’s style? My knowledge of php isn’t good enough to replicate the themes blog post format using the result.php file in the child theme.

The example shown in the plugin video appears to use the themes default styling for the search results.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi Nathan

I split this from the other thread, just in case we need to do any private replies.

The limiting factor in whether you can filter a grid made by any theme or plugin is what that theme or plugin is and how it makes the grid.

From experience, I know that this is very difficult to do with Salient, and that other users (often with my coding help), have used the shortcode results method and I have made them a custom results.php. Having done many now for recipe sites, it doesn’t take me long!

Please see my follow up reply about a chat on Skype.

    Hi Nathan

Great to speak with you. You are using the Salient theme together with their version of Visual Composer. It seems that installing the Visual Composer Addon plugin for Search & Filter:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/nup3nolrl9w2vua/search-filter-pro-vc-beta-2.zip?dl=0

and then adding the shortcode for action=”filter_next_query” seems to work

I didn’t check, but is the form set to Custom Display Results method? If it isn’t, you might want to have it set to that as well.

I will set this as resolved for now.
