Custom taxes not returned in search

Hi,
I’m having trouble getting any results to show from my custom taxonomies. They’re appearing in the term count in my dropdown menus, but no results of any kind are showing up in my searches.

I’m using a child theme of Divi, developing locally. But I’ve also tested this using Twenty Seventeen and had the same problem.

These taxes are attached to a custom post type called ‘usp_post’, generated by the USP Pro plugin. There are three: language, province, and provider type.

I’ve tried changing the settings on Display Results to a Post Type Archive, Shortcode, and Custom. I’ve tried telling the plugin to use index.php and my custom archive-usp_post.php page. None of this has worked.

Any help, please?

I’ve made some progress here by installing Relevanssi. The searches are returning results now. I’m having display issues, but I will open a separate ticket for that.
