Hello, I am trying to set up context sensitive filters with Search and Filter Pro. I have read some posts in the forum here but did not understand what was being said well enough. I also have CPT UI.
Here is what I am trying to do for example:
Manufacturer
Equipment Type (general)
Equipment Item (specific)I would like to be able to:
1. Select a Manufacturer.
2. When the items appear: This would also provide a new filter for Equipment Type (General) of the chosen manufacturer.3. Then select from the Equipment Type (General)
4. When those items appear: This would also provide a new filter for Equipment Type (Specific) out of the Equipment Type (General).ie.
– Manufacturer: Caterpillar
– Equipment Type (General): Engines
– Equipment Type (specific): Cat 3412 Industrial EngineDoes Search and Filter Pro have the capability of context sensitive, or might I say, hierarchial filters?
Here is a page I’m working on that might be helpful to take a look at.
https://americanheavyparts.com/ahp2017/inventory/If so, is there a Walkthrough on how it is done? This is my last big challenge on my project!
My sincere thanks in advance for any insights and help you may provide.
Sincerely,
Rob N.

Manufacturer
Equipment Type (general)
Equipment Item (specific)Would need to be separate Taxonomies/Custom Fields.
What you describe is a Dependent Filter System. Search & Filter Pro does not fully do this (yet, V3 is coming in 2018), but it emulates it, to an extent:
Make sure that
Maintain Search Form State
is set toOFF
(unless you need it on)
SetAuto Count
(both settings) toON
In each field setHide Empty
toON
The fields will always be visible though.
