Is it possible to use one results template file for multiple search forms & how?
I am using multiple search-and-filter forms that all have their individual result template even though all of templates are identical. I would like to be able to have different search and filter forms throughout the site that uses the same result template.
In theory, yes. What Display Results method are you using?
I will explain why it is ‘Yes, maybe.’
A search form passes its results to the results display code via the URL query string. If your template knows which results filters to use and how to use them (i.e. you have told the templates which form’s code to use), the page has no need of the search and filter id that may be passed, and so ignores it. In the theme I use, that is how it is done (you select the form to display and the form to use for the results as two separate option selections).
