Change field label container element

Labels for fields are currently H4 elements. I’d like to change this to a span. I can change it in class-search-filter-display-shortcode.php, but I’d of course rather not modify the core plugin files.

I was able to swap it out with span using Javascript after the field is rendered on the page, but every time the form refreshes after an Ajax query it gets reset to an H4. Is there a better way/place to make this change?

At this time this is not possible within our plugin, but we plan to make V3 far more flexible, which is due out in the New Year sometime.
