Tagged: custom taxonomies, search form
Hi,
I am trying to create a search form with chained custom taxonomies (custom category + custom subcategory) and I can’t make it work. I have been looking for any docs but I haven’t found anything.
Can anyone please show me the way of creating this form?
Thanks!!
Hey Beatriz
Currently you cannot do this, but there is a similar effect which you may have seen on the demo:
http://demo.designsandcode.com/sfpro-movie-reviews/
If you change the rating or genre, you will notice the other field is updated automatically, also hiding any unavailable options.
To create this, you must use 2 seperate fields (either a tag field, category field, or taxonomy field).
Then in general settings you must set “enable auto count”, and in your fields choose the option “hide empty”.
To find out more about how the fields work together check:
http://www.designsandcode.com/documentation/search-filter-pro/getting-started/adding-new-fields/
Check the notes on the restrictions and creating new taxonomies.
Thanks
