Hi, I’m in need of buttons that would call a certain category or custom taxonomy.
I’ve been reading through the forums, and I came across the “checkbox” solution. Nevertheless I’m still having an issue with it, since check-boxes don’t submit or don’t have any link in them at all. Not sure how the other user got the check-boxes working like a button.
    I’m currently using version 2.3.2.

Any help or guidance appreciated, thanks!

If you have Auto Submit ON, then clicking the ‘button’ would cause the form to submit.

Ok thanks, just as I thought. Is there a way to make it work with “Manual Submit”?

Well, when you click the ‘button’, even though the checkbox is hidden, it still becomes checked, and so, when the submit button is pressed, it would send that selection. Not ideal though, I would have thought.

Ok I see, yes definitely not ideal, as I want to use it as a button. Is there any other way of clicking on categories for the results to load, even if it requires to reload the whole page?
Are you planning of adding button ability in a future version?

    Thanks again for your time

I am uncertain what you mean by that first paragraph? You can style the checkboxes/labels to look like buttons, and with Auto Submit ON, the page would reload? It would look like a button, it would work like a button.

Hi thanks for the reply, yes I’m aware of the styling of the checkbox.
The problem is that I’m using manual submit, using the submit button. My client does not want the “auto-sumbit” feature, hence I can’t make use of the checkbox as a button solution.
It seems that at the moment using categories as direct click link is not feasible. So I was wondering if you’re planning of adding such a feature in the future versions of the plugin.

    Thanks again for your time!

I do not think so, although I could add this to the feature request forum. One thing you could do is add a javascript submit to each checkbox. I think you could do this using our Filter Input Object filter.

Ok thanks. I’m not really a programmer so not sure how to do that yet, I would have to investigate more. Thank you for the link.
I finally chose to use a combo-box instead, which I can now style in a different manner, since it has different CSS classes than the drop-downs.

    Thank you for your help
