Somewhat related to this request: https://support.searchandfilter.com/forums/topic/cant-get-ajax-to-work-on-a-divi-page-form/

We can get Ajax to work on pages with either the shortcode method or custom + Divi Blog method. However, it appears impossible to have any method do all of these:

    1. Show Pages built with the Divi Builder and have the results not show shortcodes.

    2. Have any method for highlighting search results in the Results Output and the Target Page that it leads to. We now understand that Search & Filter only utilizes the index preparation and not the results formatting of Relevanssi. We’ve also tried the “Highlight Search Terms” plugin by RavanH.

    3. Have the Divi Blog Module show pages (it is not intended to do that and only shows posts).

Ultimately, we are using LearnDash which uses its own CPT types and we build those Course, Lesson and Topic CPT “Pages” using the Divi builder.

    Examples:
We’ve built standard WP Pages and CPT LearnDash Topic Pages using the Divi builder. Here are the shortcodes returned in the results:

When we use the Divi Blog Module to display the results, the results do not include and standard WP Pages or LearnDash CPT Topic Pages:

#1. Are these shortcodes from Divi, Learndash or from somewhere else? I think this is the issue that needs to be focused on. Do they always show, or only after filtering?

#2. Highlighting of search terms is not a feature of the current version of Search & Filter Pro, but I seem to recall it has been requested for V3 (but I will flag this thread again for that request).

#3. The blog module is indeed set up to show only ‘blog posts’, but only insofar as the post type argument sent by it to wp_query calls for that post type. Our plugin (in the method shown in the example setup thread) overrides that post type argument and can be used to filter pages instead.

    Hello Trevor,
Thanks. We are getting closer. On that same page the actual text searching isn’t working, though. It does now show all the possible post or pages (and without the shortcodes!) but typing in a word just on one of them like “writing” still; shows all the results including posts/pages without that word. Similarly, if I type in “supercalafraga” it still shows everything and not no results as it should.

You do not have a Submit button on the form, and you have disabled Auto Submit on the form. You need one or the other. also, you have Auto Count ON, but as you have only a search field, it can be OFF.

    Hello,
Thank you. That all works now.

Is there any way to get the first instance of the relevant text hit to show up in the blog excerpt text rather than just the first text on that page?
