Hi, Another new user. I am having a lot of trouble getting Search and Filter Pro to work at all. Looking for pointers or hints.

I am using a local installation on my PC.
I’ve created an Elementor Pro Archive posts template.
This shows all of my Custom Post types ( very simple ones built with CPT UI and ACF, but only have 1 custom field )
The Archive page has 2 columns. On the right I have the Archive Posts widget.
On the left I want my filters.

I created a simple taxonomy filter, following the documentation as best I could. I have installed the Elementor SandF integration plugin.

Pasted the shortcode into a text field in the left column. It displays the taxonomy categories complete with their counts, so all looks good.

When I select anything I get an error saying that I don’t have permission to access my own server. ( 403 error ). No amount of fiddling with the Results settings has helped.

I also note that the error comes immediately I click in a checkbox, even though I have unchecked Ajax and have not touched the submit button.

I also tried moving the shortcode to the same column as the Archive posts widget – no change.

Lastly I deleted the shortcode and dropped in the JetSmartfilter filter widget ( with a simple taxonomy filter ). The page now works and filters as it should ( using Ajax ).

Any help with getting S and F to work would be appreciated as it offers ( I hope ) a little more than SmartFilters, like ghosts and counts, which I’d like.

    Thanks
    Alan

In order that I can help you, you would need to upload the site to a staging or development domain, and then send me a live link/URL to your search page so I can take a look.

Ah, this setting (Search Operator) you may need to change if you are selecting more than one checkbox in a single field and want to show (potentially) MORE results as you select more terms:

    https://www.screencast.com/t/w8YTxDbPK

OR gives you more, AND gives you less.

If you need something similar between fields, then it is the Field Relationships setting:

You might also want Auto Count ON (as shown).

    Brilliant thanks Trevor!

I’d played with the main, obvious, AND/OR but had missed the option within the Taxonomy area.

All now works as I expect.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Cheers
