Cannot find custom fields added by ACF plugin in Post meta meta key drop down

I am building a simple blog posting page. I am using S&F to have a high capability of filtering through posts. I needed to add two additional post meta fields storing date values. I want the search form to show these two fields as a part of filtering.

From what I gathered reading online that I need to use the Post Meta from the Available Fields section in the search form. Then select my custom fields in the Meta Key section (see images below).

I cannot find my custom fields in Meta Key list. Is there a step I am missing?

Unless you have added data in at least one post for those fields, they will not appear. Also, when selecting the key name, make sure it does NOT start with an _ underscore (they appear twice, once with and once without).
