    Trevor,

I just notice another issue with the double shortcode and “Custom display” results:

    [searchandfilter id="1327"]
    [searchandfilter id="1327" action="filter_next_query"]

The SF filter is on a unique category archive layout.
There are many categories in the CPT.
Filtered posts should only belong to the category displayed but the filter also renders posts from other categories.
It does not if i switch back to “Archive content type” results and remove the second shortcode.

Are you sure ”filter_next_query” + “Custom display” is a good idea in this category archive context?

Is the taxonomy in question ALSO a field in the form (it needs to be, even if hidden with CSS)?

And do you have, on the General Settings tab, the Choose which kinds of pages S&F will try to do this on: -> Tag, Category & Taxonomy Archives enabled?

@Trevor: yes, i dragged a “Taxonomy” item in the Search Form UI and selected the taxonomy to filter in the “Taxonomy” dropdown… not sure to understand correctly your question anymore.
You can check yourself in my website.

@Trevor: and another weird thing with S&F, it’s driving me nuts.
There’s a Post Meta field in the form. On a specific category archive, it should only display metas belonging to products of this category… why does it display meta of other categories, doesn’t make sense?

    Hi Avanti

I see you have a number of questions / issues.

I’m shortly going through this ticket top to bottom, to address all of these – however I will likely start with the issues chronologically, and once we resolve one issue, move onto the next.

    I’ll update this afternoon.

    Thanks

Thanks Ross, sorry to enqueue different issues on the same ticket but they’re related to the same integration on my site and i’m disappointed to see issues increase…
i’d be glad that you try to check this, it seems to me SF is complex and maybe i don’t use it the right way.

No problem at all, we realized you were hitting a number of hurdles and thought this ticket needed a closer look – which is what I’ll be doing 🙂
