    Hi, I would like to add a category url parameter on my search. I have a button that will add a new parameters to the url, but I am not sure what will be the parameters for categories or even tags.

    Currently my url search results will look like this, /search-result/?_sf_s=boots

    And I wanted to have an additional filtering with url parameters added like, /search-result/?_sf_s=boots&sf_category=item

    I also wanted it to possibly search only with categories like, /search-result/?sf_category=item

    I really appreciate any help for this.

    More like this:

    /search-result/?_sf_s=boots&_sft_category=item

    Hi Trevor,

    I tried however the URL parameter just the category. /search-result/?_sft_category=item

    For the item category, it has 7 post counts. But when searched using that parameter the search result count exceeded more than that.

    By the way, I am using a custom post type for this so I am not sure if we can still use the same parameter for custom post types and custom taxonomies.
