Great plugin so far!! Does the plugin include the ability for a user to display the search results in an alphabetical list, like an index in the back of a book? Or something very similar to this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/multi-column-tag-map/screenshots/
Ross Moderator(Private) October 28, 2014 at 10:36 pm #6618Hey Dan
Not just yet – you can add a “sort order” field to your form which I think does what you want but you can not set defaults for it just yet.
I’m hoping to get this functionality done before the weekend but cannot guarantee ๐
Thanks

Thanks
Ross Moderator(Private) November 10, 2014 at 10:09 pm #7367Yeah I guess so, but its not on a high priority list – what are you thinking would work for you?
More importantly is to be able to display the sorting dropdown outside of the search form and anywhere on your page (like another shortcode possibly)
Anonymous(Private) November 10, 2014 at 11:35 pm #7384The big thing for me, with the dropdowns, is that in the plugin’s current state, it includes the “sort results by” default and I can’t disable it. It’d be awesome if instead, the select field would default with the 1st option and by clicking it, it’d be initiated… In that respect, I could include a few sort filters next to one another (a-z, recent, etc.) and by clicking each one, the results would update.
I guess I can remove the “sort results by” with jQuery and CSS, but that’s a bit cumbersome and might be prone to breaking in updates to the plugin.
Just thinking out loud.
Ross Moderator(Private) November 11, 2014 at 10:11 pm #7448Yeah no worries, I’m interested to know how to improve the plugin ๐
So the main issue is that for the dropdown you don’t want to see the “sort results by” option? Or you would like to be able to have multiple sorting on at the same time?
Also, did you try the default sorting option in “settings” -> “posts” ?
Thanks
