Assuming that you have the form already on the results page (and if you don’t, do place it there) …

Change the form to ‘Custom’ display method. Enter the results page URL in full.

    Switch OFF Ajax for now.

Then, just before the grid widget, add this shortcode (it will not add any content to the page):

    [searchandfilter id="63301" action="filter_next_query"]

The purpose of the shortcode is to bind the form before it to the grid after it.

    That might work.

Then see if you can switch Ajax on, set the Ajax Container, and see if that works. If the grid uses Salvattore or Masonry, it is possible it won’t work properly with Ajax.

You are searching only the Portfolio post type, so it is possible to use the Post Type Archive method, set as seen here:

    https://www.screencast.com/t/VRhuk3IG

    and here:

    https://www.screencast.com/t/VjY4HVmHbA

Note that the Ajax Container might be wrong, depending on the actual results page content. The theme you are using, I think uses Masonry to make its grid, so that might be an issue. You may have to test it first with Ajax off. If that is an issue, let me have a live link/URL to your search page so I can take a look?

Yes, it is possible to use our plugin with an archives grid using Masonry.

There are a number of options:

    1. Your theme has archive pages that already use masonry
    2. You have a page builder that uses masonry
    3. You use Divi Builder, which uses a Masonry alternative called Salvattore
    4. You want to write your own code/template to use Masonry

Depending on your choice above, I can point you in the right direction. for #4, see this thread (and any others linked in that thread):

    https://support.searchandfilter.com/forums/topic/infinite-scroll-with-masonry/

We have received feature requests to allow the one form to be broken into parts to be placed (and styled) in different places (and differently styled) on the page.

We have taken those requests on board for our forthcoming V3 (which we hope to release in a few weeks – but that may flex a little as we polish the code and UI). For example, you might have a form in WooCommerce that has a Search Box (text field), a Sort Order drop down, and then other fields (Product Categories, Product Tags, Variations, etc). You will be able to place the Search Box in the header, and the Sort Order above the products, and the rest of the form in the sidebar.

But, that is not possible right now.

Custom CSS styling can turn a form field like a checkbox or radio buttons into what appear to be choice buttons (like a Tag cloud).

    Hi.

Is it possible to use Isotope + Masonry with Search Filter Pro?

I would like to have a news feed templated in a masonry grid.
Then use the Search Form UI elements for sort by and search loading results with Ajax*.

Question: at this point since using masonry I would need a hook/call/function which I can use to rebuild masonry grid after ajax has loaded the results (unless you have a better/seamless solution).

Then I would like to have the Categories listed as navigation or buttons independent to the Search Form UI used for the search and sortby fields so I can have it in a different location. Can you have 2 instances of the search filter UI on a page/template (I could hide the certain elements with CSS so that in one I hide the Categories and the other I ca hide the search and sortby fields).

What do you think is possible?
Have you done something like this before?
    Any examples?

Thanks for letting me know. I will close this thread for now. I have made a new thread for the other issue (masonry), which I will reply to shortly.

I find impossible to generate search results not as a list but with boxes (masonry). I installed post grid plugin but it results impossible as I’m not an expert anyway.

    Thanks!
I need to try on my website now because I have “www.website.com/store”, I need to figure out the problem.

For the masonry, doesn’t work with Repeater element, just need an Easy post element, I haven’t tried yet, maybe I check these days.

    I’ll let you know soon!

    thank you very much!

We have not tested whether our plugin is or not compatible with The Grid from theme-one.

You could test it though. Make a test page, and a test form. Let us say that the form ID is 1234.

On the page you need three things.

#1. Somewhere on the page you need the form (either a widget or the shortcode, e.g. [searchandfilter id="1234"]

#2 Immediately before the grid, another shortcode: [searchandfilter id="1234" action="filter_next_query"]
This simply links the form to the grid (if it works) and does not appear on the page).

#3 The grid itself. Try to keep the content settings to default. If there is an option for Masonry, do not enable it. Keep pagination standard.

    Hi,

I have a problem getting AJAX to work on page designed with Beaver Builder. It is not an archive or a layout / part made in Beaver Themer – just a normal page.

I am using it exactly as described here: https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/3rd-party/beaver-builder/ with the integration plugin installed and by using the normal Posts Module with the “Columns” layout (but I’ve tried Masonry too, which gave me the same result).

I have also set the Results URL correctly in settings, and it seems like it should all be working, and it does if I’m not using AJAX, but with AJAX it just “blinks”, and nothing changes when filtering.

I kept the “change URL…”-setting turned ON because it works if I go up to the browsers address bar after filtering and simply hit enter, OR if I turn AJAX off. I can’t find any console errors.

Please help me figure this out. I really want to use AJAX with this plugin.
