I purchased this plugin to exclude the events category from searches for the Cancer Resource Center of the Finger Lakes. The site can be found at https://crcfl.net/

I am using the plugin on an Elementor site, and have also downloaded and used the extension created for Elementor.

I created the Search results page, and made sure that the source and filter for the query are set to use the plugin. I have tested a number of settings within the search form, and for hours have not been able to get results that seem relevant to the searches that I’m doing.

For example, searching for COVID would seem to have a result with a results page with COVID at the top. that is not the case. If search for Brain, I would expect brain cancer results to be at the top.

I also tries installing and using Relevanssi to make the searches more relevant. But, that did not improve the results at all.

I would really appreciate any support that you can provide. this is an important resource within the community and I want to make searching for information much easier for those who are already stressed out.

Are you able to send me a live link/URL to your search page so I can take a look?

From your description, it sounds like you have more than one field using that same source (e.g. post category), which is not allowed. See this post for details:

The no results message is usually in your theme, and not our plugin, again, I can only say for sure when I have seen the search page.

OK. So, I have installed our Elementor Extension plugin, and also the development copy of our plugin (which will be replaced by 2.5.2 when we release it). It now seems to work?

It depends how long ago you built the site, but we now have a free additional extension for Elementor Pro, which you should download (if you are logged in) from top of this guide page (which shows how it should be used with the product archives widget, see a little way down the page for specific extra advice when using the product archives widget):

    https://searchandfilter.com/documentation/3rd-party/elementor/

Please read the guide carefully, as the old method you had to have a filter_next_query shortcode, some javascript, and set it to custom mode, none of which are now used (all built in to the extension).

This will require a few changes to the form and the page setup, but will work much better than the way it is currently setup.

I have made a few changes to your form (remove the Advanced relevance setting, which cannot be used unless you are also using the Relevanssi plugin). I have also added variations to the Post Types being searched, and set the form to auto detect the product category of the page you are on. The form cache is currently rebuilding.

I will get back to you once it has finished and I can check if the issue is fixed.

We cannot yet give a 100% guarantee it will work with Ele Custom Skins, but it usually does.

I think this is the issue.

To separate them, it is explained by what I said here:

The next issue that you have Product Category in the form twice, which you cannot have. This post explains in detail:

You need to make a new custom taxonomy for at least one sub-group of terms and move them over to the new taxonomy. That way you can have two form fields.

Hi Victor. Always best to start your own thread, so I have converted your post in to a new thread for you.

I can see that the form is not correctly setup as it is set to Custom display method.

    Hi
I am using Search filter with elementor and ACF.
When the filter is displayed most of the fields are displayed correctly.
    But some not:
    See the screenshot below
    http://immo1.awebdesign4u.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/bug-on-filter.png
Here is the page where the filter and the result appear.

Can you tell me how to fix it
    Thanks for your help

Are you using Elementor (and Elementor Pro), and are you using the third party JetEngine addon plugin for Elementor? If so, please note that we do not (yet) support JetEngine with our Elementor Pro extension plugin.

You will likely find that Ajax does not work with a JetEngine grid, and that, instead of using our extension for Elementor, you may need to set the form to Custom and use the filter_next_query shortcode (just before the grid) as well as adding the form to the page.
