    Hi Trevor, at the first post I see: “1) Deactivate S&F in WP Admin Plugins page (do not delete, otherwise you will lose your search form)”

    With other plugins I often just rename the plugin to ‘whatever-old’ and upload the new unzipped plugin – never had problems with that.
    Why is deactivating needed?

    It stops the plugin from trying to re-build the cache for a few seconds. It is not necessary if you do not wish. I am not sure renaming the plugin is a good idea, as WordPress will still see it. Moving the folder up a folder is a better idea.

    Thanks… another way I use sometimes is empty the folder and upload the new files… anyway it depends on the upload speed. Moving folder is probably a better idea, faster on most servers, thanks for the input 🙂

    Anyway, are you all sorted now?

    Somewhat related — I’m receiving Update Failed: Download failed. Too many redirects

    The same advice applies Josh, see the post that I linked to for guidance.

    @Trevor – sorted => mark resolved
