Hi,
I posted a while back about The Event Calendar not being compatible with Search and Filter Pro. Since then I’ve removed all searches concerning the event post type and the search works fine for the rest of the site.
However, I’ve run into an issue with the translations of the events: I’m using WPML to translate the fields of the events and for some reason I cannot add translations to them…because of Search and Filter Pro being active. To be clear: I’m talking about the values of the fields, not the field names (strings).
When I turn the S&F plugin on I can’t translate the fields. I’ve ruled out all other possibilities (turned off all other plugins, using a default theme, emptied the data from the plugin). Strangely enough I’m not having any trouble with the free S&F plugin so I’m not sure what the cause would be.
I understand that this will not rank highly on your ‘to-do’ list but it would be nice if you could look into this. Perhaps there’s a way to exclude the event custom post type from being affected by the S&F functionality? Thanks
Ross Moderator(Private) November 22, 2016 at 8:47 pm #71818Hey Eva
I’m not sure what the issue could be exactly (I haven’t got time to test the two plugins together right now) however I have recently fixed a bunch of admin issues.
Once of them being that S&F would run bunch of processes it shouldn’t on post edit screens.. I’ve prevented S&F from doing this now, so I hope that it was these same processes that are giving you this issue.
I’ve emailed you the beta in case you want to test it, please take the usual precautions as its a beta such as backup etc.
Thanks

I’ve tested the beta and it does resolve the issue. However it has a small hiccup:
– Creating event in main language, fill in extra fields = no problem
– Creating translated event in secondary language, fill in extra fields, save translated event = fields are filled in with values of main language (also if the field is blank in the main language)
– Fill in fields, saving the translated event again = somehow the fields are now saved
– Saving the event after the second time doesn’t seem to cause any further problemsSo for some reason it takes an extra save (in one case 3 saves) before the translated fields are saved with the correct data. It is a big improvement though so thank you for that!
