Is there a way to filter results one more time by meta fields?

Let’s say I have a car website and I search for Mercedes. I get around 20 results. Is it possible to create a separate filter and place it elsewhere (above the results, as example) and filter 20 cars by price (MIN to MAX and vice versa) or by year of production?

My initial reaction is that the results page would have to be a different URL. But why just add the year and price thing to the main form?

Because design. That’s why? But is it even possible to filter the price by min to max and viceversa ?

Or at least, is there a way to get all the filtered results and by using some hooks to alter the display?

You mean create a sort order, yes? Add a Sort Order form field. Make it dropdown choice or radio buttons. In the Sort By selection box, choose Meta value, then choose the Meta Key for your price field, and so on.

But is it possible to have the sort order separate from the main form?

ah, not at this time …. but, we are already investigating the ability to place form objects in other places on the page. A future enhancement.
