    It seems like this does not search the actual category name. For instance, if I have a category called “newspaper”, and search for newspaper, it does not show these posts, unless the word newspaper is in the post.

    Is there a way to do this?

    Yes, by using Relevanssi. Install the free Relevanssi plugin and then enable the Relevanssi support in Search & Filter Pro (advanced tab in the form setup).

    In Relevanssi you can select what to index, including categories. Then build the Index.

    Without Relevanssi support, Search & Filter Pro only searches the Title and Main Content. No Taxonomy or Custom Fields.
