Hello,
Great plugin it has already saved me hours as the purpose I am using this plugin is to create some ajax based results for a retail site.
The configuration we have is a series of nested categories totaling in over 400+ categories and respective children categories so the top level are product types (ie mens / womens) then the child of each is color resulting in many duplicates.
*(off topic there is a great plugin to display content ID called Reveal IDs)
My question is this: on the Search Form UI section under advanced settings you can only set to EXCLUDE categories by ID on the other screens you can choose to INCLUDE OR EXCLUDE is there a way to add the choice to INCLUDE by ID..? Again this is in the Advanced Settings of Search Form UI
*I have a decent way of choosing select all copying that list then going into a text editor and removing the IDs of the Categories I wish to display, however I am hoping to find a cleaner way of doing this as you can under General Settings…
Thank you
Hi
Q. Is there a way to add the choice to INCLUDE by ID..?
A. No, sorry.
I have not seen your page as such, but be wary about the heavy reliance on nested categories. It can cause many unwanted results in many aspects of site use. In general, it is better to split data in separate taxonomies and custom fields. Depending on your theme and general setup, CPT UI and ACF offer great features for this purpose.
