    Many thanks for the great plugin!
    I have a few questions regarding the set up of the result displaying mode.
    I have tried all displaying methods, but I’m still not satisfied in the way the results are showing up.
    The page where I’m testing the plugin is this: http://www.thoughtmechanics.co.uk/
    My template is Striking.

    1. If I select the Result Display mode “Use shortcode”, and define the results page and put the two shortcodes in this page, the search bar perfectly shows up on the results page, but I don’t like the way the results are showing up and don’t know how to influence the design. ( I tried to set the results page to portfolio layout, but nothing happens). Is there any possibility to influence the design in this Display mode?

    2. I’ve read in the documentation that the design of the result’s page can be influenced by using the “As an archive” method and select the option “use own template” and paste the xxxx.php name of the template of my theme, I want to use to display the results. I tried this method, but I can’t achieve to influence the design. I’ve read that using Avada template, a change in the code has to be made. I’ve searched for this part you were mentioning but couldn’t find it in the code. Could you tell me where exactly I have to look for it?

    3. I would like the search results to be like on your horizontal integration.

    Before I answer, could you say what level of skills you have with HTML/CSS and PHP?

    I ask this because option 1 is the most flexible but if you wish to style the results, requires some work from you. The results simply use our own template which is fairly simply to modify.

    On the other hand, option 2 is the simplest, but you have to find the most appropriate template php file from the theme for this method. Some themes, like Avada, make this hard because they do not follow WordPress ‘rules’ on how to structure these templates. Whilst we DID do a lot of work to figure how to get Avada working, it WAS a lot of unpaid work, and at this point of time neither Ross nor I have the time available to to undertake that type of work. I cannot know what your theme looks like without you sending admin logins to me (using private reply). So, in summary, either option 2 works as soon as you figure the correct template to use (usually the blog template) or it can be the hardest.

    Making the results appear horizontal integration, perhaps you could show me what you mean? Most people ask for the search form to be horizontal, not the results, which I cannot envision?

    Hi

    I bought this plugin after watching your demo version and I liked the search results where it shows the movie images with text alongside. If I activate shortcodes then how can I achieve the same search results like on your demo video?

    Ah, I see. The layout of the post results is pretty much theme dependent. The demo is using one of the standard WordPress themes. By default, the layout of the results is down to the theme you are using.

    The first thing is get the search functional, and then focus on appearance. Do you want it to look like that portfolio page you showed?

    Do you have a working search to show me using the shortcodes method (the template must normally be results.php BTW)?

    I can see no reason what that should not be achievable using the shortcodes method.
